Group Exercise Tips

Show up early and meet with the instructor. Let them know you are a beginner and to take it easy on you! FUEL instructors will know how to modify exercises and monitor your intensity during the class.

No one is watching you! If you think people are watching you, what do you think they are thinking? Beginners usually think people are watching them too- so they are focused on themselves just like you! Intermediate and advanced participants are doing their thing- moving, focused on the weights, their body, the music or the instructor but not you. 

Bring a friend. This will bring some familiarity and make it more fun. Besides, misery loves company- ha! 

Err on the side of caution. You do not have to prove anything to anyone. You need to go at your own pace. Many of the participants in any group exercise class have been doing it for years. They started somewhere too. 

Shock the system. Once you get used to a class it is a good idea to try something new. The body adapts quickly a change will really kick-start those muscles and your metabolism once again. At FUEL we have many classes to choose from like Cardio Pump, Boxing and Spinning… and to really shake it up join a RIPPED session!

Reach beyond your goal. Every rep and every step put that little extra into it. Look around you- the fittest people in the class are also working the hardest… all the way through!

Have a sense of humour- don’t take life too seriously- no-one gets out alive!

Get in great shape and learn some skills at the same time… just try it and see if you like it. The first class is FREE! Class is every Monday at 7pm- 8:30pm and Sat at 11am- 12:15pm (except on Psycho Saturdays).
